» How to apply?
The first Step you need to do is to fill out the Volunteer application form through online www.ccsvnepal.org.np/events.php  upon receiving this we will assess your suitability, and send you a Program confirmation email.

» What Happens after l submit my application?
A staff member of CCSV will contact you shortly once your completed application form is received. It will only take 7 working days to prepare your placement details, host families information etc.

» » When Can I volunteer?
All CCSV project begins on the 1st and 15th of each month Year -round, but volunteers are normally to provide to us their own availability date.

» When Can I make payment of Project fee?
Full payment could be made once you have received your requested placement details, host families information, and pre-departure profile on Nepal & Philippines.

» How do I choose my Project?
On this you can find variety of projects, browse through and let us know your interest by indicating it on the application form.

» » Will someone pick me up from the airport?
Yes. This is covered by your program fees. You will be met on arrival by one of our staff, who will transfer you to your accommodation. Participants are advice to send copies of their flight itineraries to us in advance prior to your arrival date in Nepal or Philippines.

» » Are there special dietaries for vegetarians?
We will strive to meet any dietary requirements you may have, and will ask you to declare these on your application form.
However, please bear in mind that your choice of meals may be considerably lower than what you are accustomed to in your home country.

» » What type of accommodation should I expect?
Participants should expect a typical room or a shared flat from local host families, during orientation & tours participant would be accommodated in CCSV-DORM IN THE PHILIPPINES.

» » Will I be safe?
Your safety is a primary concern for us, and we will take all reasonable steps to ensure that you are safe. We only go to areas with excellent track records for safety. However, no trip can be guaranteed to be one hundred per cent safe, and each guest must recognize that travel to developing countries is, in general, less safe than travel to developed countries.

» » What if I get sick?
Our pre-trip information pack will provide you with how to minimize the risk of falling ill, and our staff / host families will also brief you on hygiene. We strongly encourage you to get comprehensive travel insurance that will cover the event that you fall ill. This coverage should certainly include all medical-related expenses, and emergency air lifts where required.

» » Will I pay extra fee after paying the project fee?
No, there is no extra fee to be paid after you have paid the project fee. Please read the Program fees menu, what the fee covers and what does not.

» Where Can I make Payment?
Payment could be made via this 3 process:

o  Bank transfer

o  Cheque

o  Western Union

How can I travel around as a volunteer?
Weekends are free for all volunteers to explore Nepal or Philippines. Note you are to inform our staff, host families and project staff of your whereabouts before traveling. Also CCSV will provide information / guidelines on where you want to go before you leave.

» Can I travel /volunteer with a friend, family member or a group and Can we get the same project and host family?
Yes, you can travel or volunteer with friends, family members and upon request for the same project and host family .at CCSV we can certainly arrange for you.

» Can I change my project after I find out that my chosen project is not worthy and have interest in another CCSV project?
Yes, upon notification CCSV can change project for you, also working project is subject to change at unavoidable circumstances, but volunteer will get same nature of work

» What are some of the things I can bring with me?
After we have received your completed application form, a pre-departure profile about Nepal Or Philippines would be sent to you and in the profile list of things to be brought is listed. Also in the book you can find information’s on Nepal or Philippines ,weather, life style, culture, money, banking, clothes, food etc which shall prepares you for your arrival in Nepal or Philippines.

» How important is the CCSV-Philippines orientation, language and cultural program?
This program is uniquely designed to prepare volunteers before they start their chosen projects. This program will enables you to know about Nepal/Philippines history, culture, language and the people in General.

» Do I need to speak another language to volunteer?

The Philippines is the first larger English speaking country in Southeast Asia .Our programs do not require that you to speak the local language. However, a basic knowledge of Filipino (Tagalog) is necessary to follow the instructions provided by the local staff.

» Do I need any specific skills to volunteer abroad?
No. Our placements are designed to accommodate all levels of skills and experience.

» Will there be time to travel when I'm volunteering abroad?
Free time is available some afternoons, most evenings, and every weekend. Our local staff can give you suggestions for places to visit, or you can create your own schedule. During your weekend you can take excursions to other parts of the country, or you may choose not to travel, and stay in town to get to know the community better. You may also choose to travel after the program.
How long can I volunteer?

The Volunteer & adventures program ranges from 2 to 12 weeks in the Philippines

» Will I have a specific placement for my volunteer work, or will I be involved in more than one?
You will have a specific placement, however depending on your skills, interests, and the need in the community, you may be involved in more than one. If you are unhappy with your placement, we do our best to find another placement that better suits your needs.

» Are volunteers insured by CCSV-Philippines?
No, all volunteers are advice to insure themselves before their arrival in Nepal /Philippines.

» Will I meet with other volunteers in the Philippines?
Yes, CCSV-Philippines host volunteers from worldwide every month and it is most likely to meet other volunteers at your project or host family.

» Is the water safe to drink?
In all CCSV programs, safe drinking water is provided. Our staff will also inform you about health issues when eating and drinking outside the program placement.

» What are the in-country accommodations?
The accommodation varies. However, we provide a Home-Base structure in all our locations, typical housing consists of a comfortable house in a safe, conveniently-located neighborhood. Clean, modest accommodations with shared occupancy rooms are the standard. Lodging arrangements always have basic amenities like electricity, local communication and running water. As part of the CCSV program, local cooks prepare and serve daily meals.

» What forms of communication will be available for me to access in Nepal/ Philippines? Will there be internet, telephones, and post offices available?
This all depends on your placement; however, almost all of our placements are close to the major cities where volunteers will have easy access to phone, internet, and post office.

» How much extra money should I bring?
Volunteers will be provided with room and board from the very first day to the last day of the program. Therefore, you won't need any money to pay for these expenses. However, if you are planning on taking part in activities outside of the organization, or if you just want to buy some souvenirs, you will need to bring extra money in order to do so. On a side note, you must also remember the visa fee, which varies depending on the length of stay and mode of entry. There is also an airport tax, which you pay upon your departure from Nepal/ Philippines.

» What do I need to know about traveling and sight-seeing in Nepal/Philippines?

If you are planning to travel in Nepal/Philippines before or after our volunteer programs, you will need some extra money. But don't worry; Nepal / Philippines are a cheap place for shopping and travel. If you want to buy gifts for family and friends, you can buy them from any souvenir place. You can change your major currencies and traveler's checks at the airport or other exchange agents in the city.
